This review works through whether that headline wattage translates into real-world soldering performance, or whether it is a specification that only exists on paper.
The teardown-style overview covers the control unit’s construction, the tip stand and the handpiece itself, including a direct physical comparison against JBC and Metcal irons for grip diameter, cable flexibility and tip-to-grip distance, which matters more for all-day comfort than raw power figures. The most useful part for buyers is the thermal testing. The ADS200 is a solid, serviceable, professionally built iron with excellent tip availability, but the performance gap against premium cartridge systems is real.
